Plant Based Banana Pancakes - with protein!

breakfast recipe healthy pancakes pancakes plantbased protein pancakes recipe vegan recipe

Hello beautiful!

Okay, if you don't know this, now you know - I have royally butchered every freakin' pancake recipe for years now. And I'm not talking about the basic add one egg to a chemically infused protein powder (cause I mastered those gut rot recipes pretty easy).

I'm talking about the ones that use real ingredients you put into a frying pan - and they taste like a pancake. Anyhow, I did it. I didn't think it was real, so I remade them a few days later just to make sure lol... ever think something is too good to be true? (I swear this is how what my boyfriend thinks of me on the daily LOL, I wish).

So you want the details? I'm going to tease you a little bit longer cause I've got three things that just need to be said though before you read the ingredients (and perhaps have a slight freak out that carbs are involved).

1. Fruit will NOT make you fat. Eating a few extra thousand calories in fruit will, yes, just like it would if you were doing it with any food. Please do not fear fruit!

2. Not all proteins are created equal, and not all proteins will leave your gut happy. Most people complain about protein powders giving them gas, bloating and digestion issues. A lot of this is due to the chemicals infused with the proteins, the protein being whey-based, or how it's processed. The kind I've been using is a tri-blend: cranberries, pea and rice proteins which helps that whole digestion thing, plus it's a vegan protein source! Bonus!

3. A little maple syrup will not hurt you, or your waistline! I was that girl who looked at the calories on syrup or honey and wanted to scream in horror at the carb content. Ladies, listen to me when I tell you that I indulged in the real deal syrups and did not get fat. I repeat, I did not get fat. Sure, guzzle up the whole bottle on the daily and you might be squeezin' into a bigger size, but eating the real deal instead of sugar-free options is much healthier for your gut health and...a lot more delicious!

Let's make 2020 the year we stop fearing carbs and wondering how we can get our hands on a "zero-calorie" version of the real deal. Eat the real deal. And move your body. Your entire being will thank you for it.

I hope you all enjoy this recipe! And let me know if you make it and love it as much as I do!
