Easy & Healthy Brownies PLUS a Celebration!

If you didn’t see my big ol’ smile today let me tell ya – I am over the moon happy that I got to celebrate my one year anniversary of launching the Progress Project. It’s all still pretty surreal that in one year we had over 1000 women sign up for this wild adventure and I can’t thank you all enough for being my badass sidekicks for this journey!

So you are probably here for the recipe, right?

So to be completely honest I tried making about 6 recipes and about 4 of them turned out – I’m taking this as a wild win as it was my first time baking with plant based protein powders!

I switched all of my products over to Arbonne last month when my girlfriend finally (after a year) convinced me to just try a dang lemon zest bar. Game over. Those things are so freakin’ addicting, I literally called her yesterday and said I ate my whole box already and that they need to make costco sized packs of them!

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about WHY I switched. Well, to be honest I haven’t repped a supplement company in years, I don’t BELIEVE that anyone NEEDS supplements and didn’t want to promote stuff I didn’t stand behind just to earn some commissions. I’d take samples from companies but never signed – it just never felt right. So now that I’m blasting you all with Arbonne on the daily you are like W-T-F is happening haha… so in a nutshell I’ll say that I wanted to get healthier while pregnant. I wanted to remove all of the fillers, chemicals and junk from my diet (and a lot of that I consumed through powders and bars). I also wanted a brand I could trust and safely ingest while breast feeding and for my little dude to eat once he’s big enough to steal my food.

My current favs and why:

Vanilla and Chocolate Protein: it’s not gritty like most plant based powders, mixes so good, and it’s got a tri-blend of protein which absorbs into your system more efficiently. I prefer vanilla for smoothies but chocolate for balls and desserts!

The Fizz: I’ve had a lot of people jump on the fizz wagon already when they saw they could get some good botanicals, vitamins with a small dose of caffeine in their system. Since being preggo I’ve barely been craving or desiring coffee but the fatigue is REAL. Fizz is my holy grail for getting sh*t done these days.

Greens on Greens: another thing I don’t love – VEGETABLES! Get them away from me, the thought of them is repulsive most hours of the day. Anyone else like this when they were preggo? So I started taking this daily and it’s also helped with keeping this mama to be regular (if you know what I mean).

Lemon Bars: if you missed it earlier I ate the entire box again in ONE WEEK! These are the perfect little healthy snack to throw in your purse instead of hitting up the drive thru for some regret!

The 5 Min Make-up Set: I’ve been rocking the natural look a lot while preggo out of sheer fatigue and the fact I work from home. But we all know how good it feels to put a bit of effort into how we look. I put up my 5 min routine on my IGTV yesterday. I haven’t switched over all my products YET because that’s kinda expensive but I did start with these 5 and I am not lying when I say I actually LOVE their make-up.

Anyhow if you made it this far – congrats, and I love ya haha… here’s my quick site link if you want to browse the site. Let me know if you have any questions whatsoever!

Now onto the recipe!!! Finally….

Mix together dry ingredients first, then add went ingredients. Preheat oven to 350 while getting to work!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup chocolate vegan protein powder – click here for the one I used
  • 1/4 cup stevia (ground not liquid)
  • 1/2 cup chunky natural peanut butter
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 cup salted peanuts
  • 1/3 cup carob chips
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup unsweetened cashew milk (use less then add up to 1 cup as needed to get desired texture)
  • After all ingredients are well mixed, place into oiled 8×8 baking dish and bake for 25 minutes. Your oven might vary in heat so check to make sure you don’t over cook these babies.

I added a layer of peanut butter to the top of mine to make it even more delicious!

I hope you all enjoy this recipe and if you are reading this before Sunday November 3rd head over to my Instagram for a pretty sweat little giveaway!

With love,

Jess and my mini hot tamale!
